[Christmas had come, everyone un-personed had been re-personed, gifts were under the tree, all was good...

And Dakki stood in front of the tree in living room, staring at the Cosmo Fountain that "Santa" had been so kind as to give her back.

Yes. It is a toilet. A very fancy toilet. More or less.]

I... I can't. I just... no.

[That'll teach her not to clean her storage out regularly! But wait, there's an envelope tucked in the branches of the tree with her name printed on it in big letters. She doesn't dare hope that it's anything at all nice, what with having gotten a freaking toilet for Christmas. Still. She's curious. She has to know. So she tears it open, and pulls out a card. It has an image of a generic CAST body on it.]

A-aah!

[MERRY CHRISTMAS, OH YES. There's a burst of blue light, and when it fades, what was blonde and pink is now purple and... more purple. She's clad in close-fitting armor, she has antennae rather than ears, and there are seams on what little exposed skin she has.]

Yes! YES! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!!!

[Action - Around Town, backdated to the 25th]

[When you get an excellent present, you want to go around and show it off to everyone. And that's just what Dakki's doing, walking through Mayfield with a spring in her step and her head held high. She tied on a scarf and plunked on hat just because she felt it looked nice, but the cold seems to be giving her little trouble at all.

This walk is not just for showing off, however. If you're a friend of hers (Lucas, Nina, Quinn, Thor, Loki, Rin...) or heck, even if you've just talked to her a bit before and she liked you (Ciel, Gamzee, Megamind, Disciple, Pokey, Taiwan okay okay this could go on for a while, if you think you deserve a gift you are SO GETTING ONE...) she'll be knocking on your door, chasing you down with a "Hello!" or just plain leaving a gift in your mailbox.

You're all getting scarves.

All of you. Some of them are red with black stripes at the ends, and some of them are green with white stripes at the ends, and they're all actually decent scarves... but that's it. Scarves. Seems she's actually not bad at knitting. And she had a lot of time to kill in the evenings.]

[Clover happened to be looking out her window just in time to see Dakki striding off the street. And she's not quite sure what she's seeing at first - it... kind of looks like that girl she was a jerk to the other day, except now she's a robot? Sort of?

Anyway, it warrants closer inspection, so Clo goes outside and tries to catch up. Casually. You know, just stalking you, don't mind me, if that guy were here he'd be all smug smirks and "oh, le irony," wouldn't he?

Nnnno, let's not think of home.]

[Dakki will not be deceived by casual stalking! At least not for very long. When she turns along a bend in the street, she catches some motion from the corner of her eye. Her head turns, and then the rest of her turns with a sudden, very quick pivot.

Oh. That girl. Dakki tilts her head and eyes her, not sure just what to be expecting from this.]

Can I help you?

[Oh hey! The voice has a little bit of a robotic 'echo'!]

[Okay, wow. Could she be another android...?]

...

Right, 'kay. First of all, sorry 'bout the other day, alright? Thought you were a fake.

[Dakki remained unimpressed looking. It was still rude, far as she was concerned... but there was little use in being miserable about it.]

Let's put it behind us, then. We both spent a day singing Christmas songs. I think we came out even.

Yeah, I guess.

So what's with the new look?

[Dakki beams.] The town finally gave me back my body! It was in a Christmas present. I've been waiting months for this!

So what are ya? An android?

Yes.

[She didn't feel that it needed much elaboration. She looked down at herself, made an up-and-down gesture with her hands, and looked back to the girl.]

A CAST, actually. That's the designation for them where I come from.

A "cast"? Funny name.

People keep saying that... [She sighs.]

Did you receive anything interesting?

Hey, don't take it wrong. I'm just sayin' it's not somethin' ya hear every day.

Welp, I got my clothes back.

It's something you hear fairly often where I come from. We're even in charge of an entire planet. [She puffs with pride... for a moment. And then she remembers it's, perhaps, not such a thing to be proud of...]

Clothes are good! This town has such issues with girls having pants.

...you did get pants, right?

... Huh. In a good way, or in a "We superior machines are gonna assimilate y'all" way?

Oh, fuck yes I did.

[Quinn's in the garage, as usual, when Dakki shows up. Music is pumping from the laptop and he's fully engrossed in a game of Grand Theft Auto IV on the Xbox. When she knocks, he doesn't look over, but cheerfully calls the guest in.]

Yo! It's open! C'mon in.

[Having been given the go-ahead, Dakki lets herself in.]

Quinn! Oh, wow, it's noisy in here! [She's shouting a bit to make sure she's heard over the din.]

Merry Christmas! How are you doing? I have a present for...

Oh. [She stops, now in view of the television, watchng the game unfold on the Xbox. How interesting.]

[Quinn pauses the game and turns to say hi, when he notices Dakki's new look.]

Hey! I-- Whoa! Did you-- You got your body back!

[That look of surprise on his face was funny. But it would be rude to laugh outright.. she pressed her lips together, stifled that laughter, and nodded quickly.]

I did! One of my Christmas presents from Mayfield.

[She held her hands out, and a small wrapped package appeared with a soft blue burst of light. The package was then offered to him.]

And here's your Christmas present from me.

[He goes from shocked to amazed pretty fast. A tech geek like him can't love something like this.]

Awesome! Check out how cool ya look! How do ya feel?

[Oh, a gift?] Ya brought somethin' for me? Really?

I look cool? [She seems momentarily surprised by that. Cool? Really? But she was wearing terribly common parts...] I feel like myself again! Everything feels... right, now.

[She continues to offer the package to him.] I did! It's not much, but... you're one of my friends, here. Christmas is a time for letting your friends know that you care. So... here!

Sure do. And that's great. Must make a world of difference.

[He'll gladly take the gift and start to open it.] Thanks so much, darlin'. I wish I had somethin' to offer in return. Christmas time got kinda weird, as I'm sure ya know.

Ah, thank you. [It's important to accept a comment gracefully.] And it does! It really does. The difference is like night and day.

[Inside the package is one of the green scarves with a white stripe on either end.] It's alright. It was a pretty bumpy holiday. I had some time to myself, so... I made that!

[Aww. He smiles, and immediately wraps it around his neck and shoulders.] Ya made this yourself? Awesome work. Thanks, darlin'.

I did! You're welcome! I think I could get pretty good at knitting, if I stick with it.

[She then tilts her head to look at the TV again.] Are you playing a game? That's awful old, isn't it, needing to be projected onto something....

Ha! I'm used to hearin' the opposite. Maybe compared to where you're from, but in 2010, this is all top-of-the-line stuff, I'll have you know. Interested in playin'?

[The vocaloid's surprise just makes Dakki grin. It was fun to show off, it really was.]
